- Is there any deposit or money up front? Usually, no. In large out-of-state moves, a 50% retainer is required.
- What types of payment do you accept?
We take cash, checks, or all major credit cards.
Credit card companies charge Truck and i for using your card. In order to cover the charges, a 3% service charge will be added to the total bill for the use of any credit card. - Why do I need so many guys for my move? Some moving companies assign lesser men than are optimal on a move because it is easier to sell a lower hourly charge. We recommend adding one or two men to the crew, resulting in a discount on the hourly rate of each mover. It allows the move to go quickly and efficiently.
- Do I tip my movers? It’s entirely up to you. Movers do not expect to be tipped. It is not required, but if you feel as if your crew does a great job, a tip of 2-5 % for the entire crew is appropriate.
- How does Truck and i charge for services? On local moves, we generally charge on an hourly basis. Our pricing conforms with the rates mandated by the Georgia Publice Service Commission. Pricing for out-of-state moves is based on the weight and distance.
- Is the cost of my move more if elevators and stairs must be used?
The size, speed, and proximity of the elevator can have major impact on move time. One of the most important time saving measures a customer can take is to reserve their elevator for exclusive use.
- It can be very frustrating and time consuming when our movers have to compete with other movers for elevator use. Reservations allow one person to occupy the elevator full-time to assist with loading.
- A significant number of stairs and/or a long carrying distance will definitely add time to the move.
- We typically add an extra mover for extra help when stairs or elevators are involved, resulting in a slight price increase.
- What happens if I need to postpone my move? Please call at least 24 hours in advance, and we will work to accommodate your schedule with ours. Same day cancellations will infer a 1 hour charge.
- How do I get an estimate for moving? Call us for a FREE consultation or fill out our form online.
- How does Truck and i handle pianos, pool tables, and weight machines? We move upright, spinet, and baby grand pianos. For full grand pianos, we recommend the use of a third party. This third party would also need to break down pool tables and all weight machines.
- How much prior notice does Truck and i need to schedule a move? During less busy times, we may be able to schedule your move with only 1 or 2 days advance notice. During peak demand times, such as weekends and all throughout the spring and summer, it is best to call 3 to 4 weeks ahead of time to make a reservation.
- Does Truck and i do interstate/ long distance moves? Yes. Because we are not a van-line, we are able to give a higher level of exclusive service on interstate and long distance moves. The same crew member who loads your belongings at pick up will also deliver at the destination. We are also able to give a guaranteed time frame unlike the larger companies who will often sub-contract moves out to a third party.
- Does Truck and i offer temporary or long-term storage? Yes, we offer a variety of different storage options. click here
